Vibe Açaí
Buyer Guide · No Freezer Needed

Açaí without a freezer.

Every operator who wants açaí on the menu runs into the same wall: it is a frozen product, and frozen is expensive, bulky and fragile. There is a way around it.

Quick answer: Yes — you can serve real açaí with no freezer and no cold chain. Vibe Açaí America manufactures a shelf-stable açaí soft serve mix: a 1 kg (2.2 lb) foil pouch of açaí powder made with organic açaí, stored at room temperature for 18 months. Whisk one pouch into 1 gallon (4 L) of water, wait 20 minutes and pour it into any standard soft serve machine — or blend 100 g with 300 g of ice for a bowl. One pouch yields about 4.5 L, roughly 30 servings of 150 ml. It ships dry and ambient by parcel or freight from Orlando, Florida, so there is no freezer truck, no cold storage and no dry ice anywhere in the chain. Why frozen açaí is a problem for most operators

Frozen açaí is a good product with a hard supply chain attached to it. To carry it you need freezer space you may not have, a distributor who runs refrigerated routes, a minimum order big enough to justify a reefer truck, and the tolerance for a product that is ruined if the chain breaks once. For a café, a kiosk, a bakery, a hotel or a multi-menu restaurant adding açaí as one item among forty, that is a lot of infrastructure for one line on the menu.

The result is predictable: operators who want açaí either overcommit to freezer stock, or give up on the category.

What changes when the base is shelf-stable

Freezer space needed to hold stockNone — the pouches sit on a dry shelf
Refrigerated freightNone — ships like any dry good
Minimum orderSmall — a case is 20 kg, not a pallet of frozen tubs
Risk if the cold chain breaks in transitNone before mixing
Shelf life18 months, ambient
Waste on slow weeksLow — you mix what you sell
Sampling a new menu itemOne pouch — no pallet commitment

The açaí itself does not change. It is the same fruit from the same supply chain as our frozen sorbet — only the water is added at your counter instead of in Brazil and shipped frozen across a continent.

Is it still real açaí?

Yes. The base is açaí powder made with organic açaí from the Açaí Amazonas group's own supply chain in Pará, Brazil, with published specs including physical-chemical, microbiological and heavy metals results, and a batch COA with every lot.

Vibe Açaí is not a reseller brand: the same group grows the açaí on the largest private açaí farm in Brazil (Açaí Amazonas, Pará — planted since 2004), freezes and processes it in its own FSSC 22000-certified, FDA-registered plant, and imports and distributes it in the US through Vibe Acai America LLC under a documented FSVP program. One owner from seed to pallet — no trading companies, no white-label factories, no middleman margin. That vertical structure is why the wholesale price is competitive without touching quality.

When frozen is still the right answer

We would rather you buy the right format than the one we happen to be explaining. If you are a high-volume açaí bowl shop with freezer capacity and steady turnover, the frozen 3-gallon sorbet tub is faster on the line: scoop or blend, no prep, no hydration wait. Plenty of operators run both — tubs for bowls, mix for the machine. Compare them side by side in soft serve mix vs frozen açaí.

Frequently asked questions

Can I serve açaí without a freezer?

Yes. A shelf-stable açaí soft serve mix stores at room temperature and only needs refrigeration after it is mixed. One 1 kg pouch plus a gallon of water makes about 30 servings of açaí soft serve, or roughly 10 blended bowls.

Does the açaí mix need refrigeration?

Not before mixing. The sealed pouch is shelf-stable for 18 months stored cool and dry. Once hydrated, it is handled like any soft serve base — kept cold in the machine or the walk-in.

How is it shipped if it is not frozen?

Dry and ambient, by parcel or LTL freight from Orlando, Florida. No refrigerated truck, no dry ice, no cold-chain paperwork. That is what makes small and trial orders realistic.

What equipment do I need?

Any standard soft serve machine — gravity-fed or pressurized, floor or countertop, including Taylor, Spaceman, Carpigiani, Stoelting, Electro Freeze and Donper. For blended bowls you only need a blender: 100 g of mix, 300 g of ice, 50 ml of water.

Does it taste like frozen açaí?

It comes from the same açaí supply chain as our frozen sorbet, so the profile is consistent across both formats on the same menu — which is not true when a brand sources its powder from one factory and its frozen from another.

What is the smallest order I can place?

Much smaller than frozen. The mix sells by the 1 kg pouch, 20 per case, and samples ship by parcel from Orlando — so you can test the item before committing to anything.

Is it organic, dairy-free and gluten-free?

The mix is made with organic açaí and is dairy-free, gluten-free and Non-GMO. Note that we do not hold organic or Kosher certification on the finished product — if your program requires a certified organic seal, tell us upfront.
